Volunteer Coordinator Role: Community Development Team

Indigo Volunteers HQ is made up of a host of highly skilled and passionate volunteers who dedicate a few hours of their time per week to help push the charity forward and reach more potential volunteers and projects around the world. We are now looking for passionate and dedicated volunteers to join our team. Role Title: Volunteer Coordinator
Location: Remote Working / Working from home
Reporting to: Lead Volunteer Coordinator
Hours: 4 – 6 per week
Duration: Minimum 3 months

Note: This is a volunteer role only


The purpose of your role will be to manage all elements of volunteering on behalf of the organisation for which you are recruiting volunteers. You will be assessing and meeting an organisation’s needs through the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers. You will be managing volunteers and their relationships with those they come into contact with.


As a volunteer coordinator, you will need to:

  • Promote volunteering social media and externally
  • Understand all Indigo projects volunteering needs and details
  • Recruits volunteers and ensure they are appropriately matched for a project
  • Monitor, support, motivate and accredit volunteers and their work
  • Offer advice and information to volunteers and external organisations (Indigo projects) through email contact
  • Identify volunteers and  projects who may need advice and consultations through face-to-face and telephone contact
  • Work with multiple Indigo projects in order to establish good working relationships to influence decisions about volunteering
  • Maintaining and improving knowledge of salesforce and making sure the volunteer journey is working efficiently
  • Maintain databases and undertake any other administrative duties
